My daughter has been Saving all summer for a ladies ‘Giant’ bike. Of course we are going to make sure she has a bike lock but I want to get added protection if possible.
So, can anyone point me in the direction of a sort of lo Jack for Bicycles? Thank you.
Hey there!
There are bicycle tailored GPS devices. And if there are, they are extremely expensive, sometimes costing as much or more than the bicycle itself.
There is one Gps unit that may work; it’s called Zoombak. It is pricey and has received some not-so-good reviews.
Your best bet is learn theft preventative measures. Instead of me explaining it to you (and boring you out of your mind) I will simply post a link to an article, which I think has some very good tips.

Feel free to contact/email me for comments/questions and I will gladly help you out!
Good luck =)
Im in the market for my first mountain bike. I have no idea what im looking for in a quality bike. This is something ive wanted to get into forever so im not afraid to spend the money on a good bike thats going to last and be able to handle all the trails i’ll see in the future. Can anyone recommend the bike I need and why? Thanks.
It depends on the type of riding you plan on doing and your budget. Your best bet will probably be to get a few mountain bike magazines - MBUK and What Mountain Bike? are probably the best options in the UK, but if you live elsewhere just buy whatever’s available in the magazine shop - and have a look at what’s on offer. They’ll mention what sort of riding each bike is suited to.
Specialized, GT, Trek and Giant all make very good bikes at various price ranges that are suitable for beginners.
I found some Huffy and Schwinn brand bikes on Craigslist for cheap ($75-150), but I don’t know enough about bikes to know if it will hold up to some rugged trails.
Trek, Gary Fisher, Raleigh, Giant, Specialized, etc. Anything from a real bike shop. Discount store bikes on a hard (rugged) trail will crumple in a short period of time.
We have a doberman smart loving dog but also hyper. He is getting better at walkers by but bicycles and scooters drive him crazy.
I’m sorry..but when I first read your question I thought..a barking bicycle? what can I say..long weekend..late nights..
anyway to the question: you may want to check with a trainer that will help you desensitize your dog
I have a 2011 kink curb bmx bike and I was wondering if I could put mountain bike rims and tire on it and change the fork to a shock absorber fork? If I can’t why not?
You can not put 24’s or 26’s on a bike meant for 20’s. If you buy a fork that fits your headset you can change them out but for the price of a descent fork and some new wheels you could buy a low end mountain bike and have two.
I have a specialized rockhopper, I want to buy a new bike, preferably Kona or Specialized. I would like soft tail, and I dont mind having an older year bike at all to save money. Any ideas or websites as to where I can find some used or new mountain bikes for pretty cheap? Or any other ideas or advice? Anything will help
Try
JensonUSA , craigslist, ebay, or Nashbar
I’m a male 5′5 in height and would like to start mountain biking. I’de like something reasonably priced. Just post any bikes you think are good :). THANKS
The bike that kitty suggested is a Boy’s bike (24" wheels). I’ll take it for granted you are ready to step up to an adult bike. Once into the 26" wheels, bikes are measured by frame size to fit anyone from 5′ 2" tall up to 6′ 6" tall. I thinking a 16" frame for you. To know for sure, visit a real bike shop & have the sales staff suggest what they think.
You stated, "reasonably priced". I hope you don’t mean as in a discount store - because I don’t list discount store bikes. They fall apart too quickly & are basically junk.
If you can assemble one yourself, start looking at Diamondback bikes on Amazon.com. Link below…
For a bike shop bike, a Raleigh Talus 2.0 is about $300. A Trek 820 - slightly higher. These are the most reasonably priced bikes I would recommend.
I really want to start riding dirt bikes this summer, and I’m a 14 year old. Where is a good place to learn how to start? And what type of gear do I need to buy? Please add any tips or good information I might need. Thank you so much!(:
What kind of dirt bike is good to start out on?
You need a running bike, the will to ride (even knowing you’re GOING to wreck a few times learning), protective riding gear, and an open field….theres lots of those around….you might have to have parents that are going to let you do it as well.
I am interested in mountain bike racing and cyclo-cross racing. Do you know where I can begin in Northwest Ohio?
Thanks

Im am starting to look for a good mountain bike that is under $1000. Do you know any good brands? Or even specific bikes?
Very subjective question. There is no "best brand" because what I like may not be what you like. ALL the major brands are good once you get into that price range. The best way to judge any bike is go try it. What feels best to you? Which bike shop has the better service dept.? Who gives the most/better follow up service after the sale?
Raleigh, Trek, Giant, Gary Fisher, Specialized…all good.
